I just completed a practice upgrade of the GTX database to a newer version of the forum software and it looks like everything went smoothly.

So tomorrow, I'm going to make the upgrade for real. I'm going to leave the site open for new posts, but know that after approx 9am EST on Wednesday, January 25th, any new posts made will likely not make the jump to the upgraded site. I'll be making a fresh forum database copy in the morning and using that for the upgrade, so any new material posted after 9am tomorrow will be on what will be deprecated version of the forum, which will be archived and then made inaccessible after the upgrade later in the day.

I'm leaving it open because someone may have an urgent question they need answered and you don't care if it gets deleted later - but if your issue isn't urgent? You may want to wait until I give the green light on the completion of the upgrade before you post, so it'll remain on the site.

The things you'll notice after the upgrade? Honestly? Probably nothing. Just some security things mainly. Certainly necessary, but not at all sexy. In the weeks the follow work will be done to consolidate a few things, streamline a few things, add a few new features and clean up and improve the home page and navigation.

I'll keep you updated as things progress. ;)

Thanks in advance for your patience.

Jeff

Thanks so much Jeff! Looking forward to a new & improved site :)

Hopefully you'll see an increase in membership from MI- I know Chris plugged the site at the MNLA conference

Thanks! :D

Ok, I'm making a fresh copy of the database now, so any posts made after I post this one will likely not make it to the new site.
