I am going to start my first Paver driveway. My ICPI book say 8 inches of modified for driveways...., but everybody I talk to says 12 inches. What are you guys doing? Thanks for the help.

Unilock recommends a minimum of 10" for car traffic, more for heavier traffic. I had asked a similar question here (http://www.groundtradesxchange.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=687&highlight=Pelican) , you can check on some of the responses.

We do 10-12", and we'll add geogrid (dif't from geotextile) occasionally to help keep things firm. Learned that trick from an article in some brick or hardscape mag.

The driveway that I am doing has no curb at the the street, Currently asphalt meets asphalt. What do you guys do in this situation, do you pour any concrete below the base?

What soil are you putting the base over? Any organic material in there? If you can dig down to virgin clay, it is always best. Soem guys put 10" of base over black dirt with lots of organics, and 2 years later, you can see the track marks from all the cars entering the garage. Or you can see the surcharge from the cars pushing the pavers apart at the edge restraint. Etc Etc. I think soil has alot to do with what you are going to achieve.

In the area where I do most of my work I go for a minimum of 12" or the depth that it takes to hit a good undisturbed subsoil, which ever is the most base. If I can't find a good base then I will use a geo textile and about 16" of base. So far nothing has moved in the last 12 years. I hate looking at those tire ruts in 2 year old lockstone.

Asphalt to asphalt - leave a bit of the apron intact, and pave up to it. This may not be feasible - you'll know if it isn't, because either the asphalt is already very 'contoured' from age, or the base material crumbles out as you excavate, undermining the integrity of the asphalt. If that happens you can either hire out to have a new, small apron put in, or if you can get away with it, use a little cold patch (or hot patch) to marry the two together.
