The ground is tilled, when should I plant grass seed?

Well, now that all the trouble with my sewer line is cleared up, I finally got my front yard tilled and raked.

I'd like to get some grass seed down, but don't know if I should wait, let it settle a little more, put down some topsoil then seed.

What's the proper procedure?

Who did the tilling?

Did you or have compost tilled in? Or some Peat Moss tilled into the soil?
