I have an old rotting retaining wall made of railroad ties that I need to replace. It seperates the driveway from the corner of my front yard. Most of the wall is 42'' in height. It then turns into the yard at a 45 degree angle with the height gradually decreasing. I would prefer to take this project on myself along with a friend to avoid any large expenses. I also want to use landscaping bricks or blocks. I saw in an earlier forum that the ones found at Home Depot or Lowes are not designed for heights over 3'. I would appreciate any advice, comments or tips. Thank you.

This is a large job that really requires a professional, who has the experience and equipement to the job correctly.
The main problem we would have with a job like this , is the removal of Railway ties, they are a hazardous waste.
