Karen, not much you can do. Has it been raining there al ot as of late? The mushrooms are usually growing off some organic matter in the soil like an old dtump or something.

Once it dries out they usually die off!

I've always been baffled when clients freak about 'Shrooms. If they were stuffed with cream-cheese and deep fried you wouldn't be able to get enough of them...:chef:

...unless they are posionous :x (if you don't know, assume they are lethal), then I recommend the radical act of leaving them the hell alone.

Karen , mushrooms are a sign of over watering , cut the time on that zone where the shrooms are growing

They are also a sign of living soil, which benefits plants and people alike.

Yeah for VooDoo !!

In articles I write, and classes taught, I refer to mushrooms in the lawn as a:

"Badge of Honor"

In most cases, that's the deal. Good soil should have fungi, and the fruiting body of many fungi are mushrooms.

Within the soil, beneficial fungi and bacteria occupy space within pores, and their presence actually resists soil compaction.

Killing them, means that they will disintegrate and leave vacant space in pores as they break down molecularly. Those vacancies of space enable soil to compact easier.

Best control method for mushrooms....... kick them over with your foot.
at least there is some organic matter in soil. although if it is a new development it is likely to be left over construction debris.

by the way generally foot method of control works in one application. rarely have i had to go back to retreat!

They'll just go away in a few weeks without doing anything.
Congratulations on having soil with some organic matter in it :)
