What is the better bed edger ?? I've tried a Brown edger and I dont think its that manoverable and its heavy and awkward. I am planning on buying one this week and dont know what brand to get. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time guys.

Do a search. There was a recent thread here detailing many features of each unit most frequently used.

Here are links to two bed-edger threads that you might find useful: Best Bed Edger Vote (http://www.groundtradesxchange.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3775&highlight=bed+edger) and Mechanical Bed Edger (http://www.groundtradesxchange.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=485&highlight=bed+edger).

I just took delivery of the Bluebird Bed-Bug last week, and got my first few hours in running it on Thursday. It impressed me as a very well-designed, easy to operate machine, and 5.5 hp Honda is just a great engine. The big drawback is in heavy wet clay soils, where the Bed-Bug has the cahones to cut the trench, but the soil clumps up in the hopper, impeding blade travel and bogging the machine down. I don't know if the other machines handle such soils better, and I look forward to a little drying out so I can get a better handle on how the Bed-Bug performs in optimal conditions. Finally, maneuverability is excellent, although defining a bed edge walking backward is tricky.

Good Luck! (and like Bill says, check out the GTX search engine to mine for answers to other questions you might have)

I can't say enough on how great the Brown EZ trencher has made life on our landscape crew for the last 6 years. So much so I purchased a second one. The Honda engine starts first time every time after all these years, but is maintained several times a year with new points on the blade and a filter cleaning because of the heavy use. Not to mention getting a $1.00 a foot for edging with it. It has paid for itself many times over.
