View Full Version : Bidding a new job
Just putting this up to see what kind of numbers you all come up with.
13,589 Sq ft of Olde Greenwich Cobble Uni-lock
277.5 cu yds of CA-1 for sub-base
277.5 cu yds of CA-6 base
1665 Sq Yds of fabric underlayment ( goes under the sub base)
yes 12" of base material total no excavation
Opps almost forgot the 2900 ft of snap edge edging

Paul,
I came up with $ 71,568.00
I was paying $2.13 SF for OGC
Fabric I pay 6.5 cents a SF
Snap edge .75 a foot plus .15 per spike
Your base, sand and other materials vary from ours in Phoenix.
Peace,
Rex

We could probably get OGC for $2.00/sqft for a job that size (normal price for us - $2.30). Fabric for us is $.10/sq yd for Mirafi series N. We don't use snap edge so I'll figure on Rex's #'s for that. Also figuring no excavation, free access with all machinery, and at my pay scale (which also includes my crew's experience level - probably comes out in the wash).
Hmmm...Priced this out 2 ways - strictly by sq ft yields something like $108K. Pricing by materials x desired margin and labor x desired margin + some G&A, puts me a shade lower than Rex, which freaks me out a bit... Seems way too low.

I made a few assumptions.
9.5 feet wide by 1440 ft long laid random with lots of cutting (2900 lin ft).
I added bedding sand and poly jointing sand.
My price is $77,989.95 CDN plus tax, accomodations, freight and travel to Chicago. I can do it in late July or August. :)

Yeah - but you should see the size of the roll!!
30'x300'. Big as Texas. :cowboy:
And nope - I mean per sq yd. Dirt cheap, but we end up having to take time to trim that beast into manageable pieces. Last time cut it into three strips.

At a hundred bucks a roll I'd make time to cut and store it too. It would take me years to burn up 1000 yds of fabric though.
I think that's even cheaper than dirt.
