Well, this site has been invaluable for me personally over the past year +. I started and got pretty far on a raised patio last summer, but got bogged down with a bunch of other stuff and then had a kid. Needless to say, time is very limited right now.

So, just figured I would post here and see if anyone is interested in doing some side work. Basically, I need three more rows of quarrystone cut and placed on seat walls in addition to a bunch of coping cut. Then, a little more base, sand, and paver install. I have all the materials for the ~950 sq ft. patio.

I am in the NW burbs of chicago and have attached some pictures.

Even help finishing up the walls and coping would be enough, but ideally finishing things up would be great. I know this is a longshot but it never hurts to try! Reply here or send me a PM if you are interested in taking a look in person. Also, my email is vootkur@medscape.com

TypeRx -

We're not in your market so we wouldn't be able to offer our services, but something to consider when hiring the completion of the work - if it's acceptable to you to not get a warranty on the work that needs to be completed, you may have more luck in finding takers. I get calls like this each year, but am always hesitant to take them on because we didn't have a hand in any of the work completed to that point, and don't want to have to guarantee work that we didn't do.

If you're OK with that and up front about it, you may find great results.

My $.02, anyway.

Thanks for the info, Stonehenge!

I am not concerned about a warranty as I am confident I prepared the base and walls very well (8+ of base), compacted it twice, and even let it settle through a freeze-thaw cycle. The remaining work shouldn't be too difficult -- I just don't have the motivation to complete the seat walls or cut the coping. If I needed to, I could complete the pavers but would consider just getting it all done in one shot if things seem reasonable.

I really underestimated how much of a pain cutting the wall block would be with a 16" cutoff and diamond blade. Maybe just bad technique on my part!!
