I've got an '03 Toro 37" mulcher with "enhanced T-bar" controls. It's really hard to get used to, but once you do it's alot of fun with the sulky, and a good torso workout to boot.
We don't use it much anymore and I was gonna sell it, but recently I've used it on my own lawn and it's still a thrill.
Whatever you get, Ole Jim, oughta be hydro drive (not belt)
'cause backing up's half the fun.
Also, there's gotta be alot that are easier to control than my Red Rocker.
