another lawn problem

This lawn stuff is hard work.

I just noticed that in some areas the lawn is laying flat. When I picked through some spots the lawn was a lot longer then the rest and it seemed a little easy to pick out of the ground.

Could this be grubs?

To see if you have grubs dig down just under to grass and look. Grubs are larve Japanese Beetles and this time of year the mature into the leave eating pest. There can be a lot of under lying things that is causing your problem. Grubs usually destroy the grass roots by eating them and causing brown spots in the lawn.
