I have a customer who has a zoysia lawn and flower beds near the house. Right now they have 4x4 landscape timber as an edging to keep out the zoysia...it's working, but starting to decay and has termites. The new garden design is for the most part all curved flower beds so lumber is out of the question. Any ideas on an edging that can make decent curves and keep zoysia from going under and over the edge. I'm thinking of either bricks set on end or cobbles on end with 3 inches exposed.

Low dry-stacked stone walls make a nice accent and provide the separation that you are looking to maintain.

if i had to put in edging, i would probably use metal, just so it couldnt be "seen"

I do a lot of stone edging set in a 2-3" concrete bed. This works great for keeping grass out of flower beds. The down fall is the price. You can sell it two ways. Do it once for this price or pay for it alot more (overtime) to maintain the edge manually.
