I broadcasted perennial rye over bare ground on about 2 acres about seven days ago. I did not put straw over it. It rained the next day all day long. Should I be seeing a lot of grass by now or is it too early. Will I see a lot of grass this fall since it is so late or will it be next spring? It has been pretty cold here at night. 30-40's

Zone 6 and no cover ?? Probably won't see much if anything this year, and not much come spring. Too much seed exposed to hot and cold extremes.

There has to be cover for the seed to germinate, and your soil and air temps are no where near close enough for that.

I drill seeded some p rye about 2 weeks ago here in zone 8 with some great weather and its real slow in coming. I quit seeding about Oct 10 here.
