I was approached by a potential client about possibly doing some work similar to Habitat for Humanity. Anyone ever do this kind of work?

Was it rewarding (in any sense of the word)?

We have done the United Way "Day of Caring" Where 1000 volunteers fan out all over the area and paint housesfor old folks, build shelves at the homeless shelter, build a new shed for the big brothers big sisters, etc. I took the whole crew to a big new municipal retirement home and did some simple landscaping that the contractor wasn't able to fit into the budget. They bought the materials, we gave them one day.
It was satisfying. The guys felt good. The retirees thanked us a million ways. We got our picture printed in about 20 different places. Definately worth it. It was nice to be able to hold it to one day.
I am also a member of the Rotary club. similar projects on a smaller scale. It also gets me a lot of work- Like I need more right now.(Hah)

when I worked for my old boss we didd maybe 2-3 a year.
I would usually donate my time and do it on a saturday.
Now I've been thinking of helping him out because he doesnt want all of them. I could use some publicity too. As well as help someone out.

We donate full installs to Habitat for Humanity in the county, it makes you feel good when you can give something back to the community that has made you successful.

I've done the fine grading and seeding for Habitat for the last several homes they have built in my county. I've gotten several other jobs and have made some good contacts from the work.
