View Full Version : Who wants a hat?

Well, it's been almost a month since Lawn, our 100th member, became our 100th member.

When Lawn registered I sent him/her a PM and email describing what info I'd need in order to send this person a GTX hat. But Lawn never responded. Possibly because Lawn was concerned that strange things or people would begin showing up once I had a mailing address :alien:.

I can assure all of you, I have neither the time, the will, or the know-how to make use of any such info, other than to send you GTX swag.

So, for those of you who do not already have a GTX hat, I'll open this offer up to you. Would you like the hat? :hat:

If so, describe in 25 words or less why you'd like to have a GTX hat. Paul, Lanelle, Nebraska and I will choose the winning entry after a few days. :hat:

Deadline is 8/10/03 for submissions.

:hat:

Well I have one already although it is getting a littly ratty. But I could give one (or more) away as a door prize at the Landscape Ontario Durham Chapter Family BBQ coming up in September. Could be some good publicity ya know, we had over 60 contractors and suppliers out last year and expect a bigger turnout this year.

Cool. I like that idea.

Anyone else with an entry?

I just spent a half an hour posting every emoticon with a hat with a brief explanation. It was great, trust me. But there were apparently too many images and it got killed!

Highlights:

:bag: I don't dance for money

:eye: I no longer do estimates

:king: The world is not ready for me in this

So, I guess I need a GTX hat for the hundreds and hundreds (literally) of landscapers on this sand bar to see. Many might venture into my new office to go over plans. My skull is the marketing tool to push this website over the top.

Agla - I love it!!

Lemme open up the restrictions on # of smilies - that's happened to me a few times, too. Darn administrator!

agla
08-05-2003, 06:30 PM
Now you should have two to give away as you just took yours off to put on the administrators hat.

Ok, the Rangers have spoken. You'll both get hats.

But I want to add a 'string' to those hats - I want to see pics of each of you with them on! :shocking:

Agla, Digin - let me know what color hats you want. (PM or email me your mailing addy). :hat: :hat:

Damn:censored:

I thought you said we had until the tenth. I was still thinking of the emoticons I was going to use.

When I bid a job I never submit my bid until the deadline. You already awarded?

I just want a cool hat.:hat:

Well, take a crack at it. I gave away 2 when I said I'd only give one...maybe I'll give a 3rd, too. :hat:

He'll wear it with a fox, he'll where it in a box,
He'll wear it with a goat, He'll wear it on a boat,
He'll wear it on a train, He'll wear it in the rain, ....

Try him, try him, you will see.
He will wear a hat, if its free.

(not original - it was Dr. Sues or Jesse Jackson, .. I am not sure which)

Jeff,

This is probably the best time to let us know how we can purchase some of the fine merchandise that GTX has to offer!

Stonehenge
08-11-2003, 10:07 AM
Thanks AGLA :)

The hats are the only GTX swag available at the moment. There will likely be more over the next 12 months, but for now that's it. It is possible to purchase a Gold Oak membership, giving access to the Private Gardens, but I'd like to have everyone hold off on that for now, until I can bring enough value there to make that area of the site worth your money.

Save your money. I'll ask for it soon enough. ;)

Dan, that was pretty funny - I thought I'd hold off awarding you one until the deadline passed, so I didn't get caught jumping the gun again. :bag:

Send me your mailing address and I'll zip one off to you.

Hello, Dan?

You still want the hat? :hat:

Digin and AGLA -

Your hats just went in the mail today. Sorry for the delay.

hmm.... delay? Ok, but I think I forgot to respond to your post. But of course you know where I'm at.

Thanks, I'll give it away as a door prize at the picnic and put GTX on the sponsor list. If you get a chance draw up a flyer or poster that I can print off and put up too. The picnic is on Sept 20.

AGLA, Digin - you get your hats yet?

Dan - I haven't had a chance to run to the post office yet to send yours....Will do so soon.

Not yet. Non-essential gov't workers may not be back to work yet because of the blackout. That might slow it down some, I don't know.

Here's me in a GTX hat:

And while my head appears disproportionately big, it's not really....uh, ok. Yeah, it is.

Hey - did that hat just get there today? Wow - that's like 2 weeks!!

diginahole

Actually, it got here Monday but this was the first chance I had to post since then. I have put out over 80k in proposals this week so I've been a tad busy lately. Here's hoping they all jump off the fences they are sitting on.

You mean you didn't get it yet?!?!?!

Oh yeah, must be because I didn't send it....

Sorry, with buying a home, selling a home, biz and the rest, my noodle has been overloaded.

We may have a rain day tomorrow - if so I'll get it rolling then.

BTW, here's a pic of Agla and his daughter sporting a GTX hat:

Jeff

I went to the post office yesterday to get a money order and lo and behold "I got mail" I got parts catalogs for Sunbeam Alpines and a parts catalog for Austin Healy Sprites. These made me extremely happy. But the best thing of all was I got my GTX :hat: . It drove my wife nuts because I wore it all day and even to bed. (It dosn't take much to make me happy) She made me take it off for dinner:censored: (I guess manners do count) I will post a picture asap. Thanks a lot.:Pile:

Jeff,

Got my hat too. Had the guys take a shot of me on Friday with it on, but alas, couldn't get a spontaneous shot.

I may try seeing how it looks on Madison, she does better in front of the camera.

Thanks for the cool hat,

John

I hope Dan got a hat because I loved his reply. Guess I'll have to learn to read posts in a more timely manor to avoid the sunburn on the dome.
