Paver Base Test: Destroy or not destroy?

Since the paver base we are testing is considered a pedestrian pavement, should we halt the tests now, and excavate each section, photographing the cross-sections of each to analyze the failures, or should we continue, driving a loaded skid steer over the pavement, possibly making failure analysis more difficult or impossible?
