I'm not sure why page loads are as slow as they are lately, but we're looking into it. We will be adding additional RAM, which should help things quite a bit. When we do, the site will go offline for a short while. I'll do my best to let you know when that's going to be.

Ok - Did everyone make the jump?
You should be experiencing faster page loads now. If you aren't, please check to make sure you aren't using dialup. ;)

I haven't hung out here in some time due to the slow loads, but I'm still in the 20th century. As soon as I get my new computer that will change. Although it seems to be a little better for my turtle PC.

Page loads have only been slower over the last 3-6 weeks, bottoming out over the last week, where some page loads took as much as 30 seconds. An overworked processor swapping data to and from the server's small allotment of RAM was the cause. RAM was upgraded, reducing the stress on the CPU, making both things operate more quickly. But as recently as 3 months ago, Alexa had us as being in the top 10 percentile of page load speeds. So other than recently, our page loads should never have been too terrible, unless there was a monster photo file or something.
