Whenever I am given a large bed to plant I like to incorporate some paths to add interest rather than just a sea of plants.

On this job I was on a limited budget and didn't want to go to the expense of stepping stones or lining the path with 4-6" stones. I never tried using two different colors of mulch to differentiate between path and garden, but I like the effect and will use it again.

I wonder what it will look like in the spring?;)

I was playing with the digital camera and have some quicktime movies of this job as well if any of you computer addicts want to check them out. The movies aren't the greatest but my god how technology has evolved!

Maybe...just maybe you can get it to 'stick' by saturating it with a lot of water???? We always water it down here because of the everyday 10-20 mph winds in the spring and fall.

Really, make sure you update us on the result in the spring if you have the opportunity to do so.

The two mulch colors and the resulting contrast does definitely do a lot.

I like this concept a lot:thumbup:  It will look really good when the plant material matures
