This is actually just a tweak of an existing feature, but for non-landscaping forums I visit, it's a neat tweak.
The existing feature is reputation - there's a scales icon at the top right corner of each post, and when you click on it, you can leave another member positive or negative feedback (aka "rep") on that post, along with a comment (and I think the smilies work, too). With the tweak, that feedback is displayed publicly in the post.
Where I've seen it it's served as a fun way to add commentary or give kudos for noteworthy posts. In time, the reputation gained from making good postsshows via the green blobby thing in the top right corner of your posts - more rep means more blobs, and a new message when you hit certain benchmarks.
Give it a spin. It's kinda fun.
