Got a client the other day that wanted us to fix his nightmare of a pond, which was illegally installed supposedly by him but possibly another company...right over a city sewer pipe. Needless to say he failed to mention that at first until we drove an hour to the job site in a down poor.
Hmm....can anyone say 'soil remediation'!
Just goes to show every time you think you've seen it all, there's something out there you haven't yet seen.

Installed over the pipe, or over a drain? How deep was the pipe? Sounds weird.

Installed right over the pipe. Upon first glance the way it was set up I thought it was a rock or a hump of soil that would need further excavation. The guy was very odd. He had the biofalls spilling into a very small pond (where the pipe was) and then branching off to a waterfall and a stream, both of which fed a larger pond. The waterfall was lower than the stream and he couldn't figure out why the stream was more of a trickle than a stream. I called the town just to double check and was definitely told to steer clear so that was a good out for me. Phew!

I had a job very close to this one only the guy called me after a plummer had to go under the pond for the water line. Bad mess, had to remove the pond and rebuild in back yard. Put in a very nice flower bed in the old spot with several new plantings.
