I had a job estimate today. One part of the project requires a homeowner project ripped up and re-done. The path is at the end of a steep driveway. they claim that every year everything they try gets torn to bits by winter plowing. I wasn't sure on what to replace the existing mess with. The path now is 14 feet long, and 6 feet wide. right now they have small concrete stepping stones surrounded by small 3/4" stone pebbles. What should I replace it with any suggestions? :const:

Nope, but I was thinking of making the path of mainly flagstone and for the last two feet place pebbles over the flagstone. This way the plow blade will only push away the pebbles wich can be raked back in spring. I can't think of what else I would use.

Interlocking concrete pavers would seem the obvious choice here.

yes, but the house is not exactlly one for pavers. But the rounded off ones would help.

Pavers sounds like a good choice to me. Another thing to add to that would be some large boulders on either side of the walk. (2-3,000# each). That should stop most plows. ;)
Or at least provide a good deterrent.

yeah, thankfully I don't plow so it won't be my plow blade all busted up. He He He!
