Sending wire from fountain to plug

My parents want to move their water fountain to the middle of a flagstone courtyard. The distance from fountain to plug is 10 feet. If I am running the wire under the flagstone, can I just run it through some PVC? Since the wire was originally exposed to the elements, do I need to run it through a protective covering at all?

yes, run it in conduit sleeve in case it has to be changed out, it can be snaked back through the conduit, and make sure its plugged in a GFI outlet
