Pond...on ledge

We have done a few small water features here and there and there, but we have a client that wants us to re-landscape his entire yard, and put a pond in. No problem....except his ENTIRE yard is ledge. How do we do this without blasting and without it looking ridiculous like we built it up just for the pond?

Since you would probably have a mini ex on site to dig the pond anyway, maybe just get a jackhammer for it and break the ground this way. I would go maybe 2ft deep at the most and build up the rest around it. When you build around use plenty of dirt so you can make big beds. dont just make a goofy ring around the pond. And incorporate boulders throughout so it all ties together. Hope this makes sense??

yeah when I first started reading I was thinking along the lines that you were. Then she said blasting and I knew she wanted a hole (there's stone called ledge),not along a ledge(edge).
Another option maybe....build a fountain?
